    Do you know of another Rondo sketch for another piano concerto by Beethoven from that time? It is a very lovely theme and I tried to work it out a bit. Would you not like to write a complete movement based on that? Here my little approach: gerdprengel.de/Beeth_Rondo.pdf and gerdprengel.de/Beeth_Rondo.mp3

    what a great discovery and adorable project - giving us an awesome opportunity to look into Beethoven's soul from 1816 when he was about to enter into his late creational period ! Actually it came out of a time of crisis when he composed only very few works (mainly only the song cycle op. 98 and sonatas op. 101 and op. 102). I wonder why it does not get much more attention!

    I would say this was more of an experimental composition of Beethoven to hone his skills upon different interesting ideas of going to the unknown side of music in his soul. It is not a sophisticated work, rather a rough composition into leading somewhere mysterious. If he did work on these hidden areas of his soul more & make it more sophisticated & professionally, he would definitely consider it a main composition at some point. But due to his time in era & the state of his financial circumstances, he was looking to be more promoted & out there as a main composer, these kinds of weird works may have definitely caused a halt for his career. And he needed money to survive in order to become a prime composer of his day. These kinds of works most likely did not make sense to the public. And it’s just a shame for the publicity’s frightened & sensitive curiosities for not allowing mysterious music to go to the depths of the abyss. But that was clearly not the case I’m assuming. And Beethoven’s imaginations had to become limited. Unless if he had extra spare time to work on mysterious parts of his soul, but I doubt he did. He would’ve already been so busy to the neck with other works that we should even be thankful he had time to even make these certain compositions in the first place.

    Great performance! Finally a great reconstruction done with the Great Maestro in mind and following in his passion and verve of composing majestic sounding music for generations to come. I can't have enough of Beethoven's genius. I am thrilled at the idea that someone could actually find the right key to the maestro's heart. Much different than the shabby execution of the fragmentary 10th Symphony that sounds as if an inexperienced schoolboy amused himself to attempt to emulate the genius that was Beethoven, instead of closely following Beethoven's fury and strength in music. If Beethoven has to be performed, it has to have passion and risk taking to be involved in it. And here one can clearly listen and taste such an unbridled and unconditional passion that Ludwig van Beethoven had in his heart and in his inner mind. Bravo to all the performers of this wonderful "coda" of the grand master of music, and thank you for having done so! Ludwig would be proud...

      @monteverdi1567 Рік тому

      It reminds me of that spurious completion of the 10th symphony-- Beethoven's sketched ideas connected by other material 'shoehorned' into it. The description of this effort I think is accurate: Beethoven sketches with ideas drawn from other concertos to fill it in. I actually found the cadenza to be the most convincing part, but those are by definition improvisations of the performer.

      This music is nice, but Defiantly not Beethoven, NO one will be able to create what Beethoven was looking for. If it was not identified with Beethoven I would never know that this is supposed to be Beethoven's.
